My other reflection (da one fat boy can criticize)

Look, this was a pretty good book. Better than Song of Soloman, and better than a lot of other texts that I have read. The most interesting aspect in my opinion is how the book is actually very repetitive concerning the family. Its extremely repetitive concerning the characteristics of the Buendia family. An example would be how Aurieliano spreads his seed and has 17 sons. They all possess the same characteristics Colonel Aurieliano in that they all have this solitary look on their face, even though they may be different colors and such. Jose Arcadio Segundo is the closest replica of Aurieliano, which he displays when he organizes the strikes against the banana company. This is reminiscent of the Colonel organizing the uprisings of Liberals against the Conservatives. They also have a similar magical aspect that they share. They both seem to have this ability to escape from death at the hands of others. Aurieliano escapes execution and assassinations countless times. Jose Arcadio Segundo is they only survivor of a massacre at the hands of the government, somehow living through a barrage of bullets. This aspect of the book interests me the most, because you get to (ideally) keep the same character throughout the book and time, seeing how different situations affect the character.

Nicely put reflection. You reflected the point of the book marvelously. Your refection made me reflect on what the book was trying to reflect. This reflection, reflects the book right down the middle.

Nicely put reflection. As far as similarities repeating themselves with members of the Buendia family, this shows traits that are passed on from generation to generation. Some may say that the insanity is genetically passed down, but in retrospect they are all actually losing their mind as a result of the same thing (Melquiade's teachings, solitude, etc.). I agree with you on the fact that to a certain extent it is almost the same characters repeating themselves. To a certain extent, one may be able to foreshadow what would happen to a character as soon as we find out they are born in the book.
